    dirty and smelly and 6am start for building work opposite hotel we left a day early due to noise and uncomfortable bed and grotty room/.

    A reasonable rate for a city centre hotel. Room was large and despite booking a single I was allocated a double room.

    The decor of the room was very tired and looked as though it's been in need of a lick of paint for a very long time. The mattress seemed to have a block of wood on top it it; the dressing table was in need of a good clean & varnish; the TV looked like something out of the 70s; the windows were dirty; there was only one spare electric socket and the whole room was just very tired. Having said that I'd probably run the risk of staying again, if only because it was relatively cheap.

    The room was finished off really well (good quality furniture) and had all the facilities we needed. The Jacuzzi bath was amazing.

    There was a large queue to check-in - it took us approx 10 minutes of waiting. Also the room did not have windows and someone had left the heating on at 28 degrees - so it was really hot when we first got there - if we hadn't gone out and left the air conditioning on it would have been horrendous. Spent ages trying to find the room as the room numbers were not sign posted.

    Temperature, Water heat and pressure, Size, The reception had a warm feeling and i was allowed an early arrival time with no charge.

    Terrible Customer service, Unwilling to help, Unknowledgable and Rude. the bedding was mismatched, The door was left open from, i can only assume a housekeeper who entered my room for no aparent reason. Very Inappropriate

    Full indifferent staff at check inn, the inaccurate data and period of stay and incorrect payment. Rooms - try to wash the windows, missing light bulb in the lights and lamps, promised shift, but nothing happened. Breakfast - the staff is not interrresser for what happens. Kitchen - VERY dirty

    "The location for concerts at the indoor arena Birmingham is ideal. I booked the Hotel for my wife and a friend to see Michael Bolton. " (97216256)

    The restaurant area and breakfast was very good value for money.

    I booked the overnight stay for my wife and a friend a a Birthday present. It would appear that the accomodation left a lot to be desired

    "I stay in a hotel every 3 weeks and wanted to find a good hotel that I could stay at every time and to be honest if I could have found another hotel that had rooms I would have gone there and left the britannia. I will not be going back." (107143207)

    The Gentleman behind the bar was very polite and helpful and did what he could to answer my questions. He was the only one.

    One woman serving in the dining room was shouting at the chef. She dropped cutlery on the floor and then picked it up and put it onto the table ready for someone to eat with them. My room had not been hoovered and was covered in crumbs and other debris. The bedding had burn holes in it and that was in a non smoking room.

    "the room in Britannia Hotel is awful. there is no electricity because the fuse was broken.The bathtub drain needed repairing because water couldn't drain away." (107164944)

    the system is terrible. We booked the Britannia Hotel Birmingham, but actually not this hotel but another hotel in birmingham. We waited for more than one hour and couldn't get into the room because the money i had paid in the internet couldn't transfer to Britannia Hotel. So i paid again and still waiting for the refund to my credit card.

    It is near the NIA venue, where we saw Duran Duran in concert approximately 10 mins walk. It was in the centre of town. Staff are friendly, morning breakfast was of good quality.

    The room was shabby, bits missing off of the bathroom taps, and the toilet overflowed over the bathroom floor whilst we were out.

    Good staff, particularly at reception. Very convenient for rail access.

    Air conditioning was a constant and despite repeated requests was not turned off. I now have a severe head cold as a result.

    Everything was fine nothing outstanding.

    When checking out I was charged £3 more than what was agreed when I booked on the internet Also in answer to the question below - "would you book a hote on-line again?" The answer is sure - but not with you! for the reasons above.

    some noisy customers, some rooms have the window facing the opposite side rooms windows, hence lacking privacy, and sometimes room cleaning was done late in the afternoon. I guess that for the price and location, there are some compromises...

    The hotel was close to where my course was, restraunts and shops. The staff was very helpful especially the restraunt and kitchen staff.

    Single rooms at back overlooking a small courtyard and straight into bedrooms opersite.

    I can't think of any!

    The hotel was tired and in dire need of modernising and refurbishment. The staff were not rude but needed some training in customer service and how to conduct themselves in a proper manner. The room was appaling! It was dark and dingy. The windows looked out on to an alley and another building but had no nets so I had to keep the curtains closed all the time. The bed was old, the pillows flat. The telephone didn't work so I had to use my mobile to call room sevice which when it came was inedible! The bathroom was old and in need of modernisation. The clean towel was on top of the rubber mat which goes in the bath! On the board in the lobby, the room rate was advertised at £160! I paid £85 which I feel was far too much for accommodation of this poor standard.

    The booking was easy and the staff were helpful.

    It was very noisy with alot of banging and slamming noiss all night. The plug siockets needed an adaptor which we were not aware of.

    "Only when checking out was I informed by your staff, that my credit card details taken at time of booking were stored by the booking company (not your hotel)and that payment was not taken at this time. To my mind I either book a hotel or I don't. I was actually cross about this matter and this matter will effect how and where I book/stay in the future. Details were stored because your staff said when questioned, that if I had not arrived for my stay, payment would have been taken." (97233170)

    Breakfast good.

    Hotel was dirty and supposedly in the middle of a refurbishment.But where? Lifts did not arrive,Another guest walked into our room having been given the same entry card as ours.Motor from boiler? or air conditioning? going all the time outside our window.

    Location.

    Hotel in general disaray - peeling wall paper, discoloured carpets, matresses with springs very noticeable. The location is great and it had real potential, but sadly it was not what we had hoped it would be. I will not be staying there again.

    Room was clean,comfortable and well-decorated. Breakfast was very good.

    Would have preferred a no-smoking room - wasn't given a choice. Hotel corridors were very bleak - walls appeared to have been stripped but no sign of any decorators about. Evening meal in restaurant was of poor standard.
